BLUF

It is really just about the pursuit of the things we came to value while in uniform. It's a club formed to feed that old animal in a new way. 2-10 member crew committed to the same challenges, each person adding a challenge to the ledger.

THE 'SKUGGE'

  • Origin

    Nowadays oversharing is the default. Yet it hamstrings our goals when we overshare them by posting, we are less accountable because of it - not more. The term “skugge” in Icelandic means “shadow”.

  • Concept

    The concept of shadows and the night was deeply ingrained in Norse culture. We aim to rework it into ours - anyone who spent time in the GWOT University knows what it means to own the night. Do you still feel that?

  • Banner

    skugge as a term becomes a membership card for someone who isn't afraid of their shadow. It is a tribe that trains like we used to. Currently open to veterans (all branches).

THE CHALLENGES

PHYSICAL

1. Low light combatives. Complete 10 sparring sessions in low light/no light - any discipline. Join for more details.

2. Endurance Event. Night movement, urban or rural terrain. 4+ miles. Join for more details.

HARD SKILLS

1. Field Strip your EDC and Long gun. Low light/no light. 100 times. Join for more details.

2. Star course - Night Land Nav (bivouac optional), not even a red lens. Join for more details.

MENTALITY

1. Sensory depravation or sensory overload. Pick your poison. Either becomes a form of meditation.

PROJECT

1. Pick a project that has a long term impact - focusing on health, wealth, or relationships. Plan and carry out the project in utter secrecy. Accountable to the group, and no one else.
